Position Overview:
The Chief Administrative Officer is a key member of NARA NWs executive leadership team and is responsible for advancing the organizations mission through the development implementation and oversight of strategic initiatives.
Reporting directly to the CEO this role is generally responsible for overseeing the day-to-day effective and efficient operation of the organization including primary responsibility for the following departments: Information Technology; Human Resources; Data Analytics and Reporting; and Facilities. Department assignments may change.
The Chief Administrative Officer will work collaboratively across departments to drive innovation ensure alignment with organizational goals and enhance the visibility effectiveness and impact of NARA NW within the community with a focus on serving American Indian/Alaska Native populations and other underserved groups.
What you will do:
- Provides operational oversight by managing the day-to-day operations of the organization and assigned departments.
- Oversees the following departments including supervision of the department heads: Information Technology; Human Resources; Data Analytics and Reporting; and Facilities.
- Provides leadership and oversight to operations directors and managers to ensure operations are efficient effective and consistent.
- Ensures problem resolution of utilization of systems facilities equipment and supplies for the organization
- Participates in forecasting and planning support of capital and projects Works on cost management by collaborating with financial and medical leaders to identify opportunities reduce costs and eliminate non-value costs.
- In cooperation and collaboration with the VP of Whole Person Care and other clinical leaders provides management oversight for operational systems to support effective clinic workflows optimization and organizational alignment including integration of physical mental and oral health care substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and social care supports.
- Coordinates facility and program planning budget preparation and revenue cycle optimization.
- Supervises Safety and Emergency planning procedures and requirements
- Makes regular organization assessments and suggestions for improvement; implements those suggestions approved by the CEO.
- At the request of the CEO may serve as one of the agencys liaisons with funders grantors and regulators including state and federal agencies.
- Understands and supports operational excellence at each of the organizations programs and facilities.
- Works with other executives in the standardization of operations across all health center locations.
- Reviews on an ongoing basis the services being offered and assists with development of new programs as needs emerge.
- Provides oversight and facilitation of operational activities between and among departments.
- Ensures compliance with all appropriate state federal and local laws and regulatory requirements for a FQHC.
- Participates in management team meetings that support the strategic and tactical direction of the organization.
- Collaborates with the executive management team to create and implement the organizations strategic plan to ensure its goals and objectives are met.
- Moves seamlessly from idea to execution while being responsible for handling all details.
- Inspires teams to move with her/him/them and develops and mentors staff.
QualificationsWe would like to hear from people that have:
- Bachelors degree from accredited institution in management or related field required. Graduate degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years progressively responsible operations management experience with at least five years in an organization of comparable size and scope.
- Experience working with the Native American/Alaska Native and recovery communities is considered a plus.
- Demonstrated experience of leadership in a non-profit preferred.
- Experience leading clinical operations preferably with a FQHC.
- Project the highest levels of integrity while winning through a consultative and embracing personality.
- Superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills as well as proven organizational skills.
- Ability to follow HIPAA policies to maintain the privacy and security of patient information.
- High level competency with word processing spreadsheets and email with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Work collaboratively with clients other NARA staff team members and treat everyone with respect and dignity at all times.

- Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus
- Ability to pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
- Ability to pass criminal background and DMV checks.
