Position Overview:

The Electrical Assembler Warranty Technician is responsible for diagnosing repairing and assembling electrical components and systems to ensure products meet quality and performance standards. This role focuses on handling warranty-related repairs and troubleshooting issues reported by customers ensuring timely and accurate resolution. The technician works closely with engineering and customer service teams to identify root causes implement corrective actions and maintain detailed documentation of repairs. Additionally this position ensures compliance with safety protocols and company standards while delivering exceptional service and reliability to support customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform incoming inspections and inventory of customer returned boats and photo document received and shipped conditions
  • Engage and communicate findings with appropriate Value Stream Leaders Engineering and schedule appropriate vessel reviews when applicable
  • Communicate projects status with Customers Captains Service Managers and/or General Managers
  • When applicable assist in the training of customers and dealer technicians in the proper steps of systems operation and proper preventative maintenance schedules
  • Support Customer Service Representatives and dealer technicians with technical information and troubleshooting guidance
  • Document supporting materials travel labor associated with internal and external assignments
  • Knowledge skills and hands on ability in a wide variety of assembly related installations to include current and non-current product customer purchased aftermarket components mechanical systems electrical installation and troubleshooting of AC/ DC NMEA CAN digital network systems interior materials fit and finish
  • Testing of customer boats ensuring all vessel systems are operational to manufactures specifications
  • Experience in installation rigging programming calibration of outboard engines
  • Must have the ability to read blue prints
  • Must interface well with retail customers dealers vendors employees other departments throughout Boston Whaler and Brunswick organization
  • Ability to work independently at off-site locations and adjust accordingly to solve problems that may arise
  • Self starter high energy individual who can work effectively without supervision
  • Must be committed to quality standards acceptable by Boston Whaler and customer base
  • Ensure work area is maintained clean orderly and safe
  • Know and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required to assure timely completion of critical projects
  • Must be willing to travel on short notice where applicable to support timely resolutions of customer issues during peak periods

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years boat building troubleshooting and repair experience required
  • Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing Boston Whaler assemblies
  • Experience with PC based software (word excel data acquisition OBMS)
  • Boating and mechanical background desired
  • Job will require to be on site in Edgewater Florida when not traveling.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Additional technical training in Mechanical / Electrical fields preferred
  • Fiberglass training will be provided
  • Must have strong knowledge and background in Electrical
  • US Coast Guard safe boating course or equivalent boating safety course
  • Boat handling experience preferred

Physical Requirements and Activities:

  • Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) asrequiredwhich may include respirators gloves chemical resistance aprons and chemical resistant suits.
  • Be able toliftto 50 lbs. Anything over a team lift effort.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. The work location may be 60F to above 100F ambient in areas of production.
  • Use hands and arms in handling installing positioning andto manipulatematerial.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs andmovingyour whole body such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling of materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Observes receives and otherwise obtains information from all relevant sources.
  • Be able to control mechanisms or use direct physical activity tooperatemachinery.
  • Troubleshoots equipment or materials toidentifythe cause of errors/defects.

Working Conditions:

  • Shop floor working environment.
  • Shopfloor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions such as air temperature radiant heat from sunlight air movement and humidity levels.
  • Frequent exposure tohigh-temperatures including a hot and humid environment especially during summer months.
  • Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes
  • Required to wear safetyglasses andutilize other safety equipment and personalprotectequipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts resins fiberglass dust & cloths epoxy composites and other chemicals.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods oftimes.
  • Ability to regularly bend stoop kneel twist crouch reach climb and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilitiesrequiredinclude close vision peripheral vision and depth perception.

Theanticipatedpay range for this position is $49900 - $69300 salary non-exempt with the possibility of overtime. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic location.

At Brunswick it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
