Who You Are:

We are seeking a talented Back-End Software Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join our global engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and supporting back-end services using languages such as Java (Spring Boot Vert.x) or Python (FastAPI).

What Youll Do:

• Design develop and maintain scalable and reliable back-end systems to support Galaxys diverse business lines (e.g. Custody Defi Trading etc).
• Partner with the tech lead to discuss shape and finalize high-level system design and technical approach for medium-to-large initiatives.
• Collaborate with globally distributed cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
• Optimize and improve existing systems for performance scalability and reliability.
• Drive impact analysis and detailed design and translate designs into clear engineering tasks for implementation.
• Automate business workflows to increase operational and capital efficiency.
• Remain hands-on by implementing core components pairing with engineers when needed.
• Own services in production end-to-end including deployment monitoring and ongoing reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.

What Were Looking For:

• 5-10 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on back-end development.
• Strong proficiency in Java Python and/or other languages used for back-end development.
• Experience with database technologies such as SQL NoSQL and ORM frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to balance design work and hands-on delivery
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Interest in Cryptocurrency and building the future.
• Fluent in English.

Bonus Points:

• Experience working in Traditional Finance or Cryptocurrency supporting trading middle-office or back-office systems.
• Experience with containerization and container orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
• Experience with the full lifecycle development of a commercial system including: requirements definition agile planning releasing and production support
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development best practices.
• Experience with distributed systems microservices architecture and event-driven design.
• Experience with Kafka or message-based architectures.
