Job Summary:The Tutoring Program Manager oversees the peer tutoring and related academic support functions in the Capstone Center for Student Success (CCSS). Makes strategic and data-driven decisions to match tutoring offering with student needs. Increases marketing and partnerships to grow the awareness and use of tutoring on campus. Hires and supervises 60 undergraduate student tutors 1-2 Graduate Assistants and a Tutoring Coordinator. Leads the CRLA certification process for student tutors.
Additional Department Summary:Partners with other colleagues in the Capstone Center for Student Success to ensure a strong culture of student-driven peer leadership and education.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and four (4) years of academic advising or student success experience; OR masters degree and two (2) years of academic advising or student success experience.
Skills and Knowledge:Knowledge of tutoring student development and learning theories. Strong multi-tasking and program management skills. Proficiency using technology with the ability to collect analyze interpret disseminate and report data regarding program outcomes and services to internal and external constituents. Ability to review data and reports to make decisions about services. Interpersonal communication and relationship building skills. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in order to successfully perform essential tasks as well as manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Ability to collaborate with other units within Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to plan and implement programs to promote student success and enhance student retention.
Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in higher education student affairs college student personnel or related area. Prior experience with the development implementation and management of tutoring or peer leadership programs. Knowledge and understanding of best practices in student development campus environments community and student learning theories and application in practice and a tolerance for ambiguity. Experience hiring and supervising student and professional staff.
