About the role
The client team creates and enhances the client software that runs on Windows Mac or other operating systems. Easy to use light-weight and deployed to perform at a high throughput Netskope Client steers user traffic through Netskopes enterprise security products (Secure Web Gateway (SWG) Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) Cloud Firewall (CFW) Endpoint DLP) enabling holistic data protection and facilitating SASE deployments. Netskope Clients centralized configuration deployment support and troubleshooting delivers comprehensive security and control across the borderless modern threat landscape.

As a Sr. Staff Engineer in the Client Data team you will be responsible for designing implementing and enhancing client software for Netskope Cloud Security solutions and solving some of the most challenging cloud access & data security problems for enterprise customers.
What you will be doing
- Working with a group of brilliant engineers to build Windows and MacOS client/agent technologies that enable a holistic data security solution (emphasis on Windows).
- Writing multi-threaded/multi-platform code in C using the latest software development techniques.
- Understanding requirement specs researching/finding appropriate solutions designing/implementing the feature with high quality ensuring reliability sustainability scalability and observability.
- Working with Product Management to understand requirements.
- Writing and executing dev test routines for your modules.
- Working with QA to help them better test our product.
Required skills and experience
- 10 years of work experience in the areas of endpoint network or cloud security solutions product development.
- Strong programming skills with C and/or Objective C.
- Knowledge of Windows and macOS and solid experience with at least one at the system level.
- Experience building and sustaining cloud network or endpoint security solution on Windows and/or macOS
- Expertise in data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with writing multi-platform code.
- Understanding of either Windows or macOS file system and operating system fundamentals.
- Proponent of TDD a big plus knowledge of various unit testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with web data formats like JSON XML MIME etc.
- Knowledge of cryptography techniques.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Familiarity with desktop UI development using frameworks such as Cocoa and MFC
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate in an open transparent and consistent manner with team and co-workers.
Education
- BS Computer Science required MS Computer Science strongly preferred

Compensation:
At Netskope salary is one component of our competitive total rewards package. The salary range for this position is as listed below. This is a national range. For purposes of complying with applicable laws the range applies to candidates in California Colorado Illinois Maryland New York Washington and other states.
The successful candidates starting pay will also be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications location and market conditions.
For all sales roles the posted salary range is the On Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target commission amount at 100% goal achievement.
In addition to salary candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus plan (for non-sales roles) and a stock award program. Candidates may also be eligible for a comprehensive health plan and other benefits that can be reviewed atNetskope Benefits site.
