Summary: Craig Technologies has an opening for a System Engineering Integrator for Lunar Landing System GFE/GFP at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas. youll play a significant role in system engineering integration for future NASA lunar landing missions within for the Human Landing System (HLS) Crew Compartment (CrewCo) Office. You will develop conceptual approaches to Government Furnished Property (GFP) certification develop and integrate processes for certifying GFP for HLS and other programs to use in space coordinate process improvements support HLS GFP management and participate in GFP verification efforts. You will apply extensive Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)/GFP hardware experience to chart the path and develop new processes for GFP certification. GFP is a term used for GFE developed for a commercial provider.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize your GFE/GFP experience to:
- Develop conceptual approaches to certifying HLS GFP in other space vehicles and integrating with other M2M programs to reach conceptual agreement.
- Develop integrate and document specific processes and implementations to certify HLS GFP for use in other elements either as in-space cross-program usage or as deliverable items to other programs for use in their elements.
- Utilize GFE/GFP experience to mentor less experienced personnel to perform system integration for GFE/GFP integration work within the HLS CrewCo.
- Participate in and represent HLS CrewCo in GFP milestone reviews and engaging in GFP verification reviews.
- Develop/coordinate/integrate potential GFP process improvements such as requirements management and certification streamlining.
- Participate in/support GFP safety reviews risk reviews and verification reviews as a representative of HLS Crew Compartment.
- Perform system integration within HLS program and with external stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
You bring extensive experience developing and certifying GFE and/or GFP for flight and integrating with other organizations. You use your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals negotiate within HLS and with other Programs to support integrated projects and perform cross-program integration to ensure success in HLS CrewCo GFP certification efforts.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree with 5 years experience OR high school or equivalent with 12 years experience in softgoods fabrication industry
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent degree
- Minimum of 9 to15 years of work/engineering experience
- Minimum 8 years experience working with NASA GFE and/or GFP including GFE/GFP requirements development and certification with progressively increasing responsibilities
- Minimum 2 years project manager or project engineer experience with flight hardware
- Experience developing new or updating existing GFE/GFP processes
- Preferred experience working with NASA commercial partners
- Preferred experience in developing NASA-related system engineering documentation such as for requirements/interfaces
YOUR SKILLS:
- Demonstrated experience showing self-motivation and proactivity in communicating and integrating with others without a lot of hands-on direction
- Demonstrated experience working within a team environment where the team is distributed across multiple NASA centers
- Demonstrated experience in identifying integration concerns and gaps in information and communicating concerns to leadership in a diplomatic manner
- Demonstrated experience performing cross-program integration with multiple people for various purposes in parallel
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Powerpoint Outlook)
WORK LOCATION
You will work onsite at Johnson Space Center within a large team of System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) personnel who work across multiple NASA centers in a hybrid environment. Occasional travel is expected. Hybrid work is available for this position with a minimum of 3 days in office each week.
