Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Solution Architect AI designs and enables AI-driven solutions and practices for the internal Architecture team applying enterprise architecture standards patterns and guardrails to accelerate safe and repeatable adoption. This role supports end-to-end solution architecture work; analysis design documentation and approvals while tailoring those deliverables to AI use cases (e.g. automations knowledge search copilots decision support).
This position focuses on enterprise AI enablement and delivery for Architectures internal processes by producing reference designs reusable patterns and implementation-ready artifacts; executing proof-of-concepts and pilots; and partnering closely with adjacent technology teams (security infrastructure DevOps engineering) to implement AI solutions that improve speed quality and consistency of architecture outcomes. This role does not own AI platforms or products but acts as a hands-on architect who translates needs into practical approved designs and working implementations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- AI Solution Design & Documentation:Produces detailed AI solution designs and the full set of required design artifacts (models/flows/diagrams/specs) adapted for AI use cases used by the Architecture team.
- AI Technical Collaboration & Delivery Enablement:Partners with delivery and adjacent technical teams to implement approved AI solutions proactively addressing implementation/release issues performing root-cause analysis and providing timely workarounds and resolutions to keep work moving.
- AI Proof of Concept & Experimentation:Develops AI proof-of-concepts and targeted tests (including comparative/A-B style evaluations when appropriate) to validate approaches and inform technical decision-making for the Architecture organization.
- Industry Standards Patterns & Guiderails: Researches and stays current on internal and industry standard AI patterns and software applications. Translates these standards and applications into guidance for the architecture team including reference architectures decision criteria and approved approaches.
- Architecture Standards Alignment Reviews & Compliance:Ensures AI solutions align to enterprise standards including updating standards to include AI solutions. Maintains AI solutions and updates as changes occur; drives required approvals; and reviews peer implementations for alignment.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Systems Engineering or similar degree is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of IT experience in delivering solutions for large integrated projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience producing solution designs and guiding implementation through delivery teams including integration/API-driven architectures and cloud or hybrid environments.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience applying AI in an enterprise context with evidence of moving from idea to a working implementation and measuring outcomes.
- Exposure to AI risk/security considerations in a real-world delivery
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty or similar
