This role requires strong technical accounting judgment ownership of complex revenue processes and the ability to partner effectively with Commercial Operations Measurement Legal and Finance teams. The position will support due diligence and post-close integration of acquired midstream assets and offers a meaningful opportunity to help establish document and enhance accounting policies procedures and internal controls as the midstream platform evolves.LocationThis role is a hybrid position based out of our office in Morgantown WV and will be expected work onsite in the office three days per week.What You Will Be Doing- Own end-to-end monthly revenue processes for assigned midstream assets from volume validation through settlement posting and reconciliation.
- Prepare and review revenue recognition and settlement calculations in Quorum On Demand (ODA).
- Manage imbalance accounting netback calculations and related true-ups across pipelines and plants.
- Reconcile operational and financial volumes and partner with Measurement and Operations to resolve complex variances.
- Interpret midstream contracts and tariffs apply contractual economics and ensure compliance with COPAS standards and internal policies.
- Support mergers and acquisitions by assisting with accounting due diligence reviewing commercial agreements and supporting post-acquisition integration activities.
- Lead integration of newly acquired midstream assets including system setup contract onboarding process standardization and control alignment.
- Participate in the development documentation and implementation of revenue accounting policies procedures and internal controls.
- Lead or support revenue-related close activities and balance sheet reconciliations using BlackLine.
- Serve as a key accounting contact for internal and external audits and other assurance-related inquiries.
Your Background:- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive experience in oil and gas accounting and/or public accounting.
- CPA (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of revenue and accrual accounting principles reconciliations and a working knowledge of COPAS standards. Experience in a SOX-compliant or audited environment is essential.
- Prior experience in Midstream revenue accounting is strongly preferred; Upstream experience is a significant plus.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software specifically Quorum On Demand (ODA) Enverus and BlackLine.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions including accounting due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to leverage complex analytical capabilities to solve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex accounting processes and timelines specifically within a fast-paced month-end close environment.
- A proactive professional who operates independently exercises sound accounting judgment and takes full accountability for their workstream.
- Comfort establishing policies internal controls and scalable processes in a growing or evolving business landscape.
- Ability to translate complex accounting concepts into actionable insights for non-accounting stakeholders.
- A problem-solver focused on risk identification scalability and refining workflows for efficiency.
Physical Requirements- Must be able to performlight work exerting up to 15pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
