Job Summary
Assistant Lecturer in the Centre for Applied English Studies (Ref.: 534181) (to commence on September 1 2026 on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should have a recognized post-graduate qualification at Masters level or equivalent in Applied Linguistics or a related discipline and have at least 3 years post-qualification teaching experience preferably at tertiary level or other relevant professional experience. They should be able to show evidence of an ability to:(a) meet the needs of students through their teaching as evidenced by positive student feedback; (b) teach across a range of courses; (c) produce evaluate and revise teaching and learning materials; (d) work on meeting self-identified professional development goals.
The Centre is specifically looking for candidates with competence in the following areas: (i) teaching academic literacy and communication skills at the undergraduate level; (ii) embedding digital competence and multimodal communication in teaching practice and materials design; and (iii) supporting student learning beyond the classroom through blended-learning and digital resources. Those who can integrate AI tools critically into language and communication teaching and demonstrating adaptive teaching practice are particularly welcome.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
