About the Role

We are seeking experienced Youth Workers to support children and young people living in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) with our partner organisation Interactive Community Care (ICCare). You will be employed by Lumiere Foundation and work onsite with ICCares residential care services.

In this role you will help young people build life skills confidence and resilience while maintaining a safe structured and supportive environment.

  • Competitive hourly rates starting from a casual rate of $48.31 (inclusive of 25% loading) and up to a casual rate of $51.81 (inclusive of 25% loading) based on experience and capability plus weekend penalty rates paid on weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day care and supervision in a residential setting ensuring young people are safe and supported at all times.
  • Support young people to build independent living skills daily routines and positive social communication.
  • Implement individual care plans based on each young persons needs abilities and goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation case notes and incident reports in line with policy and procedure.
  • Encourage participation in recreational and community activities that build confidence and life skills.
  • Provide emotional support and intervene appropriately during behavioural or crisis situations.

What Youll Bring

Qualifications: Diploma in Youth Work Community Services Child Youth and Family Intervention or a related field.Experience: Previous work with young people in residential OOHC or a similar care setting is required.Practice knowledge: Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and the needs of young people in residential environments.Communication Requirements: Demonstrated written documentation skills and English proficiency for professional case notes reports and verbal communication are essential.Interpersonal skills: Able to build rapport communicate calmly and model positive behaviour that promotes independence.Teamwork & resilience: Confident working independently and within a fast-paced dynamic team.Highly regarded: Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention or equivalent.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full unrestricted Australian working rights
  • National Crime Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Licensing & transport: Current Australian drivers licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • Availability for variety of different shifts over a fortnightly roster (day/evening/sleepover/weekend).
