About the Role
We are seeking experienced Youth Workers to support children and young people living in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) with our partnerorganisation Interactive Community Care (ICCare). You will be employed by Lumiere Foundation and work onsite withICCaresresidential care services.
In this role you will help young people build life skillsconfidenceand resilience whilemaintaininga safestructuredand supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and supervision in a residential setting ensuring young people are safe andsupported at all times.
- Support young people to build independent living skills dailyroutinesand positive social communication.
- Implement individual care plans based on each young persons needsabilitiesand goals.
- Maintainaccuratedocumentation casenotesand incident reports in line with policy and procedure.
- Encourage participation in recreational and community activities that build confidence and life skills.
- Provide emotional support and intervene appropriately duringbehaviouralor crisis situations.
What Youll Bring
- Qualifications Diplomain Youth Work Community Services Child Youth and Family Intervention orrelatedfield.
- Experience:Previousworkexperiencewith young people in residential OOHC or a similar care setting isrequired.
- Practice knowledge:Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and the needs of young people in residential environments.
- Communication Requirements:Demonstratedwritten documentation skills and Englishproficiencyfor professional case notes reports and verbal communication are essential.
- Interpersonal skills:Able to build rapport communicate calmly and model positivebehaviourthat promotes independence.
- Teamwork & resilience:Confident working independently and within a fast-paced dynamic team.
- Highly regarded:Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention or equivalent.
Essential Requirements:
- Full unrestricted Australian working rights.
- National Crime Check (or willingness to obtain)
- NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid and CPRCertification(or willingness to obtain)
- Licensing & transport: Current Australian driverslicenceand reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Availability fora varietyof different shifts over a fortnightly roster (day/evening/sleepover/weekend).

- Competitive hourly rates starting from a casual rate of $48.31 (inclusive of 25% loading)plus penaltyrates paidon shifts(as per the SCHADSaward)
