Job Summary

Rutland Town School-Middle School Softball Coach- Rutland Town School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Softball Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes. The coach will be responsible for fostering a positive and competitive environment while emphasizing skill development teamwork and sportsmanship. This position is for a combined 7/8 girls team with practices starting 3/30/26 until 6/12/26. Responsibilities: Plan and conduct team practices focusing on skill development strategy and conditioning. Instruct players in fundamental softball techniques and rules of the game. Develop and implement game strategies. Promote teamwork discipline and good sportsmanship among players. Supervise students during practices games and team-related activities. Communicate with parents school administration and athletic departments as needed. Ensure player safety and follow school and league guidelines. Transport or arrange for transportation to games as : Prior coaching or playing experience in softball is preferred. Knowledge of softball rules strategies and training techniques. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work with middle school students in an encouraging and supportive manner. CPR Concussion Training and Implicit Bias Training are needed for this job. Must pass a background check and meet school district & Compensation: Practices and games held during the softball season (3/30/26-6/12/26). Evening and/or weekend availability may be required. Stipend is $1000.
