Job Description

The Director BIC/LEN USMA Commercialization Team Lead will play a key leadership role within the US Medical affairs (USMA) organization reporting to the Executive Director of the HIV Treatment Strategy team. This position will focus on supporting the commercialization strategy for the BIC/LEN portfolio ensuring medical alignment with brand objectives and cross-functional plans. The Director will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive medical initiatives that support current HIV treatment therapies and prepare for future launches.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Medical Leadership & Brand Expertise

  • Serve as the medical and scientific expert for the BIC/LEN portfolio supporting commercialization strategy and marketing teams.

  • Act as a medical liaison to foster collaboration between US Medical ABairs Global Medical Affairs and US/Global Commercial teams.

  • Provide medical input into brand planning lifecycle management and commercialization efforts for BIC/LEN.

  • Represent Medical Affairs in commercialization team meetings ensuring alignment of medical and commercial strategies.

Cross-Functional Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate medical initiatives strategies timelines and publication plans to commercial stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Legal Regulatory Clinical Public/Government ABairs and other partner functions to support cross-functional projects.

Commercial Strategy & Advisory Support

  • Provide medical support for US commercial activities including Scientific Advisory Boards (planning content review and presentation).

  • Contribute to Promotional Review Committee (PRC) discussions and review of material for scientific accuracy.

  • Ensure medical narrative alignment and scientific accuracy in commercial materials and campaigns for BIC/LEN.

Training & Educational Support

  • Review and contribute to commercial training materials for sales and clinical liaison teams.

  • Present at commercial training sessions including midyear and national meetings.

  • Support development and delivery of training workshops and tactical planning sessions.

Portfolio & Launch Planning

  • Lead medical support for BIC/LEN portfolio commercialization and launch planning activities.

  • Align medical initiatives and POA tactical planning with the local strategic cross- functional plan.

Basic Qualifications & Requirements

  • BS/BA degree with 12 years of experience or MS/MA degree with 10 years of experience or PhD/PharmD with 8 years of experience or MD with 4 years of experience.

  • MD DO NP PA PharmD or other advanced health care degree with 6 years of relevant industry/clinical experience in HIV preferred

  • HIV experience required.

  • At least 35 years of Pharma industry experience; prior leadership or team coordination experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal written visual communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must adhere to regulatory and legal (Business Conduct) requirements for US Medical Affairs activities.

  • Office-based position in Foster City CA with ability to travel up to 25% for cross-functional meetings and conferences including occasional weekends.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in medical information slide development medical writing and project/conference management. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to utilize scientific resources across a variety of settings.

  • Prior experience collaborating with commercial/marketing teams.

The salary range for this position is: $243100.00 - $314600.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation including experience qualifications and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role) paid time off and a benefits package.
