DescriptionDESCRIPTION:
The Data Entry Operator II requires the application of experience and judgment in selecting procedures to be followed and searching for interpreting selecting or coding items to be entered from a variety of document sources. The Data Entry Operator II may perform routine work as described for Data Entry Operator I.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform data entry using standard office equipment and Microsoft Office computer programs.
- Read source documents and properly code for data entry.
- Compile sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.
- Compare data with source documents or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors.
- File and store completed documents in appropriate locations.
- Locate and correct data entry errors or report them to supervisors.
- Maintain logs of activities and completed work.
- Select materials needed to complete work assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
- Must be a United States Citizen.
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- Computer skills; proficiency in various Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- 2-3 years previous data entry experience
Language Skills:
- Must have excellent verbal and written command of the English language with the ability to read and comprehend written correspondence.
- Able to understand/interpret verbal and written instructions to perform required duties.
General Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills commensurate with position and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Attention to detail.
Work Environment. Must be:
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Able to execute discretion and independent judgment.
- Able to work independently and to collaborate with a team.
