Position Title: EL1 Business Analyst
Employment Type: Labour hire contract (Approx 12 months with potential to extend)
Location: Canberra
Hourly Pay Rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience
Security Clearance/Requirements: Must hold minimum NV1 clearance at time of application
ABOUT THE ROLE
A Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced EL1 Business Analyst to provide analytical and project support across a security clearance management system and associated information systems used to support security functions in Australia and overseas.
This role is responsible for translating complex business needs into clear technical requirements and ensuring system solutions align with organisational strategy governance frameworks and enterprise architecture. The position works closely with technical teams vendors and senior stakeholders to support system delivery improvement and ongoing optimisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyse complex system and business requirements and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Engage with stakeholders to elicit refine and document user requirements using a range of techniques including interviews workshops document analysis use cases and workflow analysis
Prepare reports business cases and risk analysis to support ICT system initiatives
Provide advice and respond to stakeholder enquiries relating to project and system requirements
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Support project implementation through system design specification and business process analysis
Liaise with vendors to configure systems in line with business needs
Undertake ongoing system administration and configuration as required
Contribute to development of training materials standard operating procedures and user support documentation
Support organisational change initiatives associated with new or revised business processes
Identify and deliver continuous improvements to business processes and system functionality
Produce additional deliverables to support emerging business and project needs
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on complex ICT projects ideally within Australian Government environments
Strong ability to translate business requirements into clear measurable functional and non-functional requirements
Proven experience defining acceptance criteria to ensure solutions are fit for purpose
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
High level of initiative with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
ELIGIBILITY
Australian citizenship is required
Must hold a minimum Negative Vetting 1 clearance at time of application
