A. Job Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant supports Gregory Constructions accounting and finance operations by performing day-to-day accounting activities with accuracy timeliness and integrity. This role is focused on execution documentation and compliance ensuring that financial records are complete and reliable to support operational and leadership decision-making.
The Staff Accountant works closely with senior accounting staff and other departments tomaintainaccuratefinancial data in a fast-paced heavy civil construction environment.

C. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties include but are not limited to the duties may be assigned.
Perform general accounting functions including journal entries account analysis and general ledger maintenance
Prepare andassistwith monthly balance sheet reconciliations under the direction of senior accounting staff
Assistwith month-end and year-end close processes
Support budgeting and forecasting activities through data preparation and reporting
Prepare financial schedules and internal reports as requested
Assistwith job cost reporting and analysis for construction projects
Maintainaccuratefinancial records and supporting documentation
Ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Assistwith audits by preparing schedules and responding to information requests
Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments as needed to support payroll benefits and cost tracking
Identifyopportunities for process improvement andassistin implementing best practices
Performadditionalaccounting and administrative responsibilities asassigned

E. Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related fieldpreferred
3-5 years of accounting experience preferred
Experience in construction accounting or job cost accounting is a plus
Proficiencyin accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Experience with Foundation or similar construction accounting systems preferred
Strong attention to detail with solid analytical skills
Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
