The Nature Facility Park Rentals and Maintenance Worker will primarily work with our native plant landscaping garden boxes and greenhouse operations. Employee will mostly focus on planting weeding watering monitoring preparing beds and soil maintaining vitality of the greenhouse plants and conditions and otherwise benefitting and beautifying the land and gardens at the park. On occasion employee will assist park naturalists in plant-based programming and activities. Employee may also on occasion assist park staff with rental equipment to customers including kayaks canoes personal floatation devices paddles bicycles and more dock work maintenance of rental boats and bikes general park maintenance and custodial duties trash and debris pickup and other related tasks. Rarely additional duties may include work with public staff and volunteers and staffing special events including set-up/tear down of events and programs.

• Able to lift around 50 pounds and complete manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Customer service skills required.
• Native plant greenhouse and gardening skills highly desired.
• Limited supervision and willingness to take initiative and follow through on tasks.
• Good communication skills with supervisor and team.
• Drivers license preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

WORK CONDITIONS
This job requires occasional weekend evening shifts and holidays. Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions. Manual labor and lifting are required for this position. Work requires multitasking and occasionally busy situations.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

• This is a year-round seasonal/intermittent position that requires roughly 24-32 hours per week.
• Schedule can be flexible based on availability and skill set.
• This position does not provide benefits.
