Job Summary
Teacher Assistant Special Education (ED Program)
Location: South Riding VA 20152
Schedule: MondayFriday 7:45 AM 3:00 PM (7.25 hrs/day includes 30-min break)
Contract: 21 weeks
Pay: $20$25/hour (Weekly: $725$906)
Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support an Elementary Emotional Disabilities (ED) Program. This role provides academic behavioral and emotional support in a structured classroom environment working closely with special education staff to support student success.
Responsibilities
Support small-group and one-on-one instruction
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and reinforce positive behaviors
Assist with classroom management and student supervision
Observe and document student progress and behaviors
Ensure student safety during class transitions lunch and recess
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (Paraprofessional certification preferred)
Experience in special education behavioral support or school settings preferred
Patient calm and professional in high-stress situations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to assist with physical redirection when required for safety
