JOB SUMMARY
The Welding Technicianis responsible forfabricating joining and repairing metal components equipment and structures using various welding processes including MIG TIG and stick welding. This role performs welds in all positionsin accordance withspecifications and company or customer requirements. The technician applies specialized skills tools and techniques to ensure high-quality workmanship while supporting facility operations through minor maintenance activities andassistingother trade technicians. The position also involves responding to facility equipment and system issues documenting work accurately in the CMMS and proactivelyidentifyingpotential failures. The Welding Technicianmaintainsa strong commitment to safety housekeeping and hazardous waste management while completingadditionalduties and projects as assigned.

YOUR IMPACT
Fabricates joins and/or repairs equipment fixtures andvarious typesof metal objects and structures using MIG TIG stick or other welding processes.
Welds according to specifications and company/customer requirements
Applies specialized skills in procedures techniques toolsmaterialsand/or equipment in area of expertise
Executes welds in all positions includingfrom underneathto the side in a variety of shapes and more
Perform minor maintenance duties andassisttrade technicians in and around airport facilities.
Respond to and correct issues that may exist within the facility equipment or systems.
Report issues found that could potentially lead toadditionalsystem and/or equipment failures.
Inputsaccurateinformation into the CMMS.
Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area
Practices good housekeeping in work area
Responsible for understanding and following all Hazardous Waste Management duties and responsibilities
Other projects and responsibilities may be addedatthe companys discretion.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED orequivalentTechnical / vocational / or military training / related experience
Welding Certification is Required
Two (2) or more years weld experience with at least one (1)yearsof experience in general maintenance
Knowledge of welding techniques including MIG TIG Stick - aluminum and stainless steel is a plus
Ability tocomprehendall blueprints and schematics
Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting
Proficient in all key weldments
Ability to usepersonalcomputer or workstation
Demonstrate ability to use allappropriate tools measuring devices forklifts cranes and fixturesrequired
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate personnel assignments within the department
Effectively communicate and solve issues that cross departmental boundaries
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties the employeeis regularly required tostand; walk; use hands and fingershandleor feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the ability to use hand trucks forklifts tugs and lift trucks. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp aroundaircraftsand confined areas. Specific vision abilities required by this job include goodclose proximityvision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination isrequired.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment issimilar toairport operation with vehicular traffic. The employeeregularly worksnear moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions fumes or airborne particlestoxicor caustic chemicals cold and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
