The Opportunity

As Therapy Specialist TAVR/TAVI you will be responsible for developing and expanding TAVI therapy within existing and new hospital accounts across South Africa. You will lead market assessments identify growth opportunities onboard new centers and work closely with internal Abbott teams and distributor partners to deliver sustainable therapy growth.

You will act as a trusted clinical and strategic partner to cardiology teams supporting procedures education and longterm adoption of Abbott Structural Heart solutions.

This role may be based either in Johannesburg or Cape Town

What Youll Do:

Territory & Account Management

• Map the South African TAVR market and identify new target accounts
• Analyse referral pathways and patient flow within hospitals
• Identify key clinical and economic decisionmakers within cardiology teams
• Drive therapy awareness through clinical evidence education and data
• Establish and develop Centers of Excellence and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
• Achieve regional therapy growth and financial objectives

Therapy Development & Clinical Support

• Lead onboarding of new TAVR centers and users
• Clinically support TAVR cases and promote therapy adoption
• Drive utilization growth through training workshops and educational programs
• Execute tailored therapy expansion plans aligned to market needs

CrossFunctional Collaboration

• Work closely with regional sales marketing and therapy teams
• Collaborate with EMEA training teams for user onboarding
• Partner effectively with distributors to ensure alignment and execution
• Track activity outcomes and implants using
• Provide regular reporting to management on market expansion initiatives

Required Qualifications

Education

• University degree in Life Sciences Medical Technology or related healthcare field is essential

Experience

• 35 years in sales or clinical roles within a cardiology hospital environment
• Proven TAVR/TAVI therapy experience including clinical case support is essential
• Demonstrated success in market share growth and market expansion
• Experience operating within a corporate matrixed environment

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel 50% on a national basis
• Based in South Africa
