This position will offer a qualified candidate the opportunity to work in Raytheons Materials and Process Engineering (M&PE) Department servicing all of Raytheon with innovative solutions to nonstandard problems. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in M&PEs world class lab performing hands-on-testing of adhesives elastomers polymers tapes composites metals and various other production materials vital to the success of our products.

What You Will Do:

• Test a wide array of materials for compliancewithdrawings specifications and program applications.

• Work in a wet labobservingall safety procedures and common lab protocols.

• Writescientific reports using generated data to support technical dispositions.

What You Will Learn:

• How to perform material testing using FTIR DSC hardness gauges mechanical testing machines and more

• How to follow written test instructions and test a wide array of materials for compliance

• Reading and interpretingnumeroustypes of requirements and specifications.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelors degree inScience Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

• This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

• Course work or lab experience in Materials Engineering or Chemical Analysis

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Materials Science and Engineering Chemical Engineering or Chemistry majors

• Experience reading and interpreting technical specifications

• An understanding of material testing/analysissuch ashardness adhesion tests sample preparation procedures and cross sectioning

• Experience inperforming and managing high volume highly technical work

  The salary range for this role is 57200 USD - 108800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
