Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and deliver electrical engineering projects through all phases of design and construction. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader with deep consulting and construction expertise and a proven track record managing complex electrical systems within a design or consulting firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering efforts across all project phases including client coordination pre-design services conceptual planning detailed design meetings site visits and overall project management.

  • Review supervise and approve work prepared by junior electrical engineers prior to final issuance.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of consulting and construction practices including plan/spec delivery design-build projects and construction manager-at-risk environments.

  • Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges such as conflicting design requirements non-standard materials and multi-discipline coordination issues.

  • Prepare complete electrical construction documents including single-line diagrams layouts sections elevations details technical specifications contract documents cost estimates and schedules.

  • Support contract bidding construction administration and on-site project management as required.

Technical Focus Areas

  • Low- Medium- and High-Voltage Power Distribution Systems

  • Electrical equipment including substations switchgear and protective relaying

  • Electrical system modeling and analysis (Arc Flash Short Circuit and Coordination Studies)

  • Electrical equipment maintenance and testing

  • Lighting emergency power and backup power systems

  • Grounding and lightning protection systems

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year institution.

  • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience within a design or consulting firm environment.

  • Strong leadership communication and project management capabilities.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit; experience with SKM and/or ETAP preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois strongly preferred.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Electrical Engineering: 10 years

  • AutoCAD: 5 years preferred

  • Autodesk Revit: 5 years preferred

  • SKM / ETAP: preferred

  • Language: English
