Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in Sierra Vista AZ. This role is essential for ensuring patient safety and comfort during the critical recovery phase following anesthesia. The PACU RN will monitor patients post-operatively manage pain control and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess post-surgical patients during recovery from anesthesia.
- Document vital signs pain levels and overall recovery progress accurately.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician and anesthesiologist orders.
- Provide emotional support and effective communication to patients and families.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesia providers to ensure smooth recovery and safe discharge.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies procedures and patient safety standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Education: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active Arizona RN License (or Compact State License).
- Experience: 1-2 years of nursing experience (PACU or related clinical experience preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in PACU Critical Care or Emergency Department.
- Certifications: BLS ACLS and PALS (or ability to obtain within designated time frame).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in high-acuity situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and family interactions.
- Proficiency in monitoring and managing airway hemodynamics and pain control.
