Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced CAD Technician/Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with navy/government drawings and developing/maintaining scripts for design tasks.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in computer-aided design or related field.
- Experience: 2 years of experience working with Navy/government drawings.
- Skills:
- Experience developing and maintaining scripts for design tasks.
- Proficient in AutoCAD SolidWorks or similar software.
- Strong technical analytical skills and attention to detail.
General Experience:A minimum of two years experience working complex CAD/technical projects. Ability to communicate and work well with geographically distributed teams is essential.
- Proficient handling and managing DoD Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Use of Microsoft Office (Word Power Point Excel) and Outlook.
- Ability to write in a technical format read and interpret technical drawings.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced high-pressured multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to interact comfortably and appropriately with all levels of government military ranks and civilian equivalents.
Functional ResponsibilityThe individual in this role is responsible for creating and modifying Naval/Government electronic design plans for shipboard installation and repair work using computer software. They will also liaise between project staff and Government representatives on design specifications and CAD products ensuring that all parties are aligned on the projects goals and objectives. Additionally they will track progress and produce job reports providing regular updates to the project team and stakeholders. By taking ownership of these responsibilities the individual will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the project.
Additional requirements:
- SECURITY CLEARANCE: Employee is required to provide eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET security clearance.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required due to technical content of work.
- Satisfactory criminal/traffic/credit background check required for entry to NNS shipyard.
Notes:
Under this task no travel is anticipated beyond the Hampton Roads VA geographic region. Should travel be required outside the Hampton Roads VA region it will be coordinated and funded in advance of its occurrence. Possibility of travel to Washington Navy Yard DC.
