KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
While they include the following other duties may be assigned to the job holder by the CIO:
- Assist in origination execution and monitoring of investments and divestments.
- Assist in review / analysis / structuring of investment opportunities and transaction leveraging a wide-ranging data source complex analysis of market competitor financial and operations data to develop an investment thesis etc.
- Lead financial modelling and valuation workstreams - construction of detailed financial models including optimal capital structure purchase price scenario assessment adjustments and sensitivities for economic conditions
- Assist in preparation and presentation of Investment Memorandum for review by the Investment Committee as well as other materials required for deal execution.
- Assist in carrying out commercial due diligence on investment opportunities
- Assist with the management of third-party due diligence providers (e.g. commercial technical financial and legal)
- Assist in effectively monitoring portfolio companies identifying potential problems and recommending remedial actions
- Manage and review regular monitoring reports on portfolio companies identifying trends in the business of portfolio companies analyzing issues and opportunities as they arise within portfolio companies
- Assist in initiating and managing the exit of investments
- Perform all requisite research for investment strategy execution and management
- Drive investment strategy execution and portfolio management processes including compliance and reporting obligations.
- Coordinate relevant compliance requirements liaising as needed with other deal teams senior investment professionals investee companies and external service providers.
- Support fund raising initiatives/activities including information creation.
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
- Minimum 3 years impressive relevant experience within Private Equity (Investment) Banking (M&A corporate finance) Project Finance or similar.
- At least a relevant University degree.
- Masters degree CFA ACCA CAIA etc. are added advantages.
- Strong business forecasting financial modelling valuation and analytical skills.
- Ability to take initiative with research and analysis
- Very ambitious entrepreneurial self-directed individual who anticipates the needs of team members and demonstrates good judgement in decision-making
- Adaptable and hands-on willing and able to step in when and where needed
- Able to work effectively and collaboratively with different members of the team.
- Excellent spoken and written communication / presentation skills - an ability to present views clearly and concisely.
- Advanced skill in the use of the Microsoft Office suite especially Excel and PowerPoint and other requisite technological application required to execute Key Responsibilities.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory while oral and written fluency in French will be an added advantage.
