  • Location: Gadigal Lands Eora Nation Surry Hills Sydney
  • Type: Hybrid Working Office one day work from home
  • Contract: Full Time Maximum Term Contract for Parental Leave - ending January 2027
  • Hours: 38 hours per week with flexible work pattern available
  • Salary: Social & Community Services 4 $44.58 to $47.97 per hour Super
  • Benefits: Salary packaging up to $18550 career development

About the team

The Homelessness Services team provides holistic case management to individuals and families across the Sydney region who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Through strong partnerships with local agencies the team works to stabilise tenancies and connect clients with safe affordable and sustainable housing solutions.

About this opportunity

Join YWCA Australia as a Case Worker on a parentalleave cover contract supporting the Homelessness Service Team to help families stabilise their housing and build pathways toward safe sustainable accommodation.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver case management for clients at risk of homelessness including assessments and tailored support plans.
  • Support clients to secure or maintain stable accommodation through case work and brokerage.
  • Build strong partnerships with government community services and accommodation providers to enhance client outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and data to support communication reporting and program evaluation.
  • Contribute to program improvement by supporting processes attending training and representing YWCA Australia in sector forums.

Youll be a great fit if you:

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Youth Work Social Work Welfare Education or a similar field.
  • Experience supporting people facing or at risk of homelessness with strong insight into the needs of marginalised communities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients empathetically and work effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with clients service providers accommodation partners and government agencies.
  • Experience working with children and sound knowledge of child protection legislation supported by solid Microsoft Office skills.
