Position Overview:

As part of the talented Plant 17 Materials team you will manage duties involved in establishing production schedules planning and analysis of Mercury Marine material requirements to optimize availability of components manufactured in a key campus feeder plant to support the main assembly plants. This position will analyze coordinate and schedule resources for various manufacturing areas to ensure continual flow of material to meet changing customer demands support the manufacturing business through supply chain activities and established/new processes and supervise union hourly personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Communication: Display professionalism and represent the Company as a leader of the organization in all communications and interactions with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Develop maintain and enforce all Company policies governing the operation of the Die Cast Trim in accordance with contractual and Company guidelines
  • Own the four (4) main metrics (safety quality delivery productivity/people); understand results and implement action plans to close gaps and meet targets
  • Exhibit dynamic leadership skills to develop and motivate employees through effective and consistent communication
  • Maintain workforce scheduling including management of vacation liability and timecard management and overtime planning to hit daily demand requirements while minimizing operational costs
  • Responsible for safety of team and safety compliance to include PPE adherence safety policy adherence conducting safety audits correcting unsafe behaviors & conditions. Conducts incident investigation reports in partnership with EH&S
  • Coordinate and ensure alignment of inventory planning execution and shipping of critical engine components used in the engine production and service distribution departments
  • Create daily and weekly production schedule while accounting for asset capacity resource assignment inventory availability and demand priority
  • Coordinate and monitor production planning and scheduling including tracking and expediting work in process for downstream manufacturing and shipping operations
  • Supervise hourly employee activities to ensure an efficient and safe work environment
  • Act as main point of contact for line balancing and material flow improvements
  • Align supply chain sourcing and packaging activities with new product build and release schedules
  • Participate in process alignment activities (HPPD project timelines team center new parts database MES etc.)
  • Analyze inventory levels an modify planning as required to ensure service and production schedules within established inventory policies
  • Manage Bill of Material (BOM) transitions and supersession maintenance
  • Communicate and provide feedback regarding supply base status of delivery data supplier performance part deployment and inventory policies to relevant stakeholders
  • Support interplant shipping process and allocation to distribution centers
  • Identify opportunities and implement continuous improvement efforts
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) such as plant past due metrics inventory levels and turns inventory adjustments and cycle counts
  • Define internal operational metrics such as backorders schedule attainment jobs past due

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Industrial Engineering Business Operations Supply Chain Management
  • 3-5 years of materials management and/or supply chain experience
  • 2-3 years prior supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to resolve conflict coach direct and develop employees
  • Demonstrated cross functional leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years prior supervisory experience within a union manufacturing environment
  • CPIM/CPM certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Proficient in UKG Dimensions system

Working Conditions:

  • This position works in a Foundry environment

The anticipated pay range for this position is $62800 - $100800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic addition to base pay this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
