Join this high impact team as a Network Administrator (P2) to ensure the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at our Raytheon locations. The installation maintenance support and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be must have a solid background supporting role will be onsite and based in Woburn MA and may require occasional travel to other local and US Domestic locations approximately 10% of the time. Relocation support is provided for the applicant if they qualify per company policy.

What You Will Do:

Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans evaluates coordinates and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing such as switches routers firewalls authentication servers encryptors etc.
Maintains network management software platforms.
Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future requirements factoring in redundancy and required network uptime.
Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists including operational instructions technical diagrams and other documentation. Where no documentation exists new documentation will be created.
Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support.
Network designs that include selection of hardware and software packages hierarchical architecture and geographical limitations.
Work with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.
Assist in the overall performance and capability of technical team through mentoring training and knowledge sharing.
Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field
Experience with network management software.
Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers switches firewalls and intrusion detectionsystems including software upgrades.
U.S. Citizen - Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications we prefer:

Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.
Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
Experience with access control list security posture and vendor best practices.
Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
Effective customer service skills including oral and written communications.
Experience with platforms such as IP telephony NTP servers GemOne and SolarWinds.
Certifications in Security within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly desired within a year.
Ability to work under time constraints.
Experience with classified computing STIG compliance and network refreshes.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

Clearance Information: This position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance. The salary range for this role is 68900 USD - 131100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
