Job Summary

As the Airworthiness Review Officer you are responsible for conducting airworthiness reviews and issuing airworthiness review certificates in accordance with Subpart 42.I of CASR 1998.

Additionally you will work with key stakeholders within the Engineering and Maintenance business (Maintenance Planning Technical Records Approved Maintenance Organisations etc.) to ensure required compliance outcomes are met ensuring a seamless process is followed and aircraft ground time is utilised efficiently.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that all aircraft within the Network Aviation fleet have a current and valid Airworthiness Review Certificate at all times.

  • Develop a 3-year plan and continually update as required to ensure that the aircraft never become overdue.

  • Issue/extend CASA Form 502 certificates prior to an expiry date or when an aircraft is grounded and ensure CASA is alerted in cases of expiry.

  • Liaise with the Maintenance Planning team to ensure aircraft can be accessed for a physical airworthiness review survey and subsequently issue the certificate to record compliance.

  • Ensure compliance and adhere to listed CASA regulations for airworthiness review execution.

  • Extract data from the relevant Maintenance Information Systems (IAS and TRAX) to assess compliance and aircraft modification status against external publications (ADs Service Bulletins Modifications etc).

  • Raise and escalate any discrepancies identified through Intelex reports to the continuing airworthiness management team (Responsible Manager) as required.

  • Extracting the latest Approved Maintenance Program schedule from the MIS.

  • Checking aircraft utilisation to ensure that the Maintenance Information System is tracking flying hours and maintenance due times correctly by completing a manual calculation on installed hours/cycles/days and comparing data within various systems.

  • Reviewing all major components including Engines APU and landing gear in the Maintenance Information System to ensure utilisation calculations for the life of the aircraft components are correct.

To be successful in this role youll have

  • 5 years experience in continuing airworthiness management OR 2 years experience in continuing airworthiness management provided you hold a maintenance certification licence in category B1 B2 or C OR a licence that is equivalent to a licence in category B1 B2 or C.

  • Ability to build strong and durable relationships.

  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to work to a designated timeline.

  • Ability to operate with minimum supervision.

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • Desire to work both collaboratively and autonomously. 

  • Excellent communication both verbally and written.

  • Desire to work with procedures and processes.
