Position Overview
Resumes are being accepted for the temporary position of Human Resources Assistant within the Human Resources Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting high volume recruitments. The primary responsibility is to assist in the efficient and timely execution of recruitment processes ensuring that all staffing needs are met in alignment with the organizations goals.
Your role
- Provide front line (in person phone email and social media) customer service to all leaders employees and the general public.
- With assistance from the Human Resources Associate respond to myHR inquiries via email phone or face to face.
- Support mass seasonal recruitment activities.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to hiring managers.
- Prepare and advertise job postings coordinate interviews coordinate reference checks prepare interview packages create offer letters and track conditional items of offer.
- Coordinate and provide support for all recruitment software systems including iCIMS (Applicant Tracking System) and JD Edwards (Human Resources Information System).
- Ensure proper recording routing retention storage and/or disposition of all documents received in the recruitment process in accordance with established policies and procedural guidelines.
- Maintain high quality standards in the delivery of internal Human Resources services.
- Responsible for effective and timely records filing for the division and mail distribution for the department.
- Support and attendance at job fairs.
- Monitor and report on metrics for seasonal hires.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Eligibility Requirements:
Permanent Residents Protected Persons Convention Refugees Live-in Caregivers are screened to ensure candidates:
- Have at least a Canadian Language Benchmark 6/7
- Have international education and/or experience as listed below
- Are currently unemployed or underemployed
- Are registered or eligible to register with Starling Community Services
- Lives in Guelph/Wellington County to be eligible for grant
Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
- Experience with providing recruitment support.
- Experience in providing customer service support to employees and/or the general public via phone email and in person.
- Understanding of general HR procedures and practices including but not limited to: handling of confidential or sensitive information recruitment and labour relations.
- Superior customer service and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals including employees agencies external contacts and the public.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
- Self-directed well-organized and proactive individual.
- Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive confidential issues.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and work quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint & Outlook).
- Experience with HRIS software such as JD Edwards and applicant tracking systems for recruitment would be an asset.
Hours of work
35 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Rate of Pay
$22.23 per hour
