Head of Risk & Compliance Secondment

We are on a mission to become a world-class betting and wagering business trusted by all our stakeholders. Were looking for a passionate and experienced leader to join our Risk & Compliance Team as the Head of Risk & Compliance Product & Transformation.

This is a 9-month secondment role.

In this key leadership role youll play a vital role in:

• Shape a Trusted and Winning Culture: Collaborate with the GM Risk & Compliance and partner with Product Legal and Risk & Compliance teams to build a transparent and robust control environment that supports operational excellence and stakeholder trust.
• Elevate Our Risk Management Strategy: As a Line 1 leader drive Sportsbets approach to risk and compliance management controls and assurance. Your subject matter expertise will guide control enhancements and mitigate key operational risks.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Champion the design and delivery of efficient scalable processes and insightful reporting to uplift risk maturity and inform strategic decision-making
• Collaborate for Impact: Work closely with cross-functional leaders to embed a proactive commercially aware approach to risk and compliance across transformation initiatives and product development.
• Build a World-Class Approach: Navigate the evolving regulatory landscape by ensuring compliance with relevant obligations and industry best practices leveraging the expertise and frameworks of Flutter Entertainment Group a leading FTSE 100 company.

Reporting to the General Manager of Risk & Compliance and sitting on the Customer Growth (CG) extended leadership team you will be a key member of a high-profile function. Key responsibilities:

• Develop a Winning Risk Management Strategy: Partner with the General Manager to create a comprehensive risk management strategy that safeguards Sportsbets customers assets processes and initiatives. This will foster a secure and trusted environment for everyone involved.
• Streamline Risk Assessments and Assurance: Youll lead engaging risk workshops with business owners and coordinate line 1 line 2 and independent assurance activities/ Youll streamline the creation of divisional operational risk profiles and optimize the efficiency of assurance work.
• Collaborate for Success: Youll partner with the CG Risk & Compliance leadership team CG Extended Leadership team other stakeholders to provide valuable insights and recommendations to sustainably grow the business. Together youll identify strategies to mitigate risks and ensure efficient and compliant business operations.
• Embed proactive Risk Management: As new projects and business changes arise youll work with Product Design and Legal Risk and Compliance to conduct thorough risk assessments. This proactive approach ensures obligations and key risks are identified and managed within acceptable boundaries. You will also review existing Product & Design policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and effective management of the teams operational risks and make recommendations for uplift where appropriate.
• Champion Compliance: Youll oversee the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of enterprise-wide policies and compliance obligations ensuring Sportsbet operates at the highest standards.
• Build a Strong Risk Team: Youll lead a values driven talented team of risk professionals fostering collaboration and ensuring they have the expertise to deliver on their roles the overall strategy and plan.

About you:

• Proven experience in Risk management Compliance and Assurance.
• A strong understanding of commercial considerations coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
• A track record of developing and implementing successful first-line risk management programs in highly regulated and dynamic environments.
• Leading and motivating high-performing teams.
• Managing executive-level stakeholders in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence change and drive transformation across teams and broader business functions.
• Proven experience operating in consumer-facing regulatory environments particularly advertising and privacy.
