The Role: Salesperson Engineering & Manufacturing
This role is responsible for driving new business acquisition and developing long-term client relationships within engineering and manufacturing environments. The position focuses on selling custom-engineered machinery solutions and managing the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and needs analysis through proposal development negotiation and project handover. The role is field-based and requires confidence operating in technical and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities

Minimum 35 years experience in technical sales within engineering manufacturing automation or machinery environments

Identify develop and close new business opportunities across manufacturing FMCG mining automotive packaging and industrial sectors
-
Execute proactive prospecting activities including cold calling site visits client presentations product demonstrations networking and industry events
-
Develop and implement sales strategies for target markets regions and key accounts
-
Conduct detailed client needs analyses to understand production challenges and recommend suitable engineered solutions

Prepare and present technical-commercial proposals quotations and tender documentation
-
Manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to order confirmation and project handover
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key decision-makers
-
Act as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process providing consultative and technical guidance

Collaborate closely with engineering design and production teams to ensure accurate delivery of customer requirements
About You
-
35 years proven experience in technical sales within engineering manufacturing automation or machinery-related environments

Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate engineered and mechanical solutions
-
Excellent communication negotiation and presentation skills
-
Ability to work independently in a field-based role while managing multiple sales opportunities
-
Willingness to travel within Johannesburg Durban and the Eastern Cape to customer sites

Valid drivers licence (essential)
