Your day as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
As a Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Southwest Health System Inc. youll play a vital role in administering essential physical therapy modalities as guided by our experienced staff physical therapists. Your responsibilities will include delivering targeted treatments and physical agents tailored to each patients needs fostering their restoration to functionality after injury or illness. Youll be dedicated to helping patients achieve their maximum performance levels while skillfully navigating their individual capabilities. Beyond direct patient care youll engage in the operational aspects of the department contributing to performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
Regulatory Requirements:
- AA degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Holds current certificate as Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Current BLS certification.
Language Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of physical medicine physical therapy modalities anatomy and physiology.
- Basic knowledge of physical therapy machine operation maintenance and repairs of same.
- Strong communication skills.
