Teaching Assistants are valued as integral members of the EYFS team and are actively involved in planning assessment and daily routines.
Due to rising pupil numbers and increased levels of additional needs within Early Years the school is seeking a committed and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will support children aged 35 across Nursery and Reception helping them to develop early literacy numeracy communication and social skills. You will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS Lead to deliver structured learning activities alongside child-initiated play.
A key element of the role involves supporting children with SEN speech and language delays EAL and emotional or behavioural needs ensuring that all pupils can access learning in a safe inclusive and supportive environment.
Support EYFS learning through play-based and adult-led activities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for targeted interventions
Support pupils with SEN including autism ADHD and developmental delay
Assist with phonics early reading mark-making and early maths
Promote positive behaviour emotional regulation and independence
Support classroom routines such as transitions carpet time and snack time
Assist with outdoor learning and physical development activities
Observe assess and record childrens progress
Work collaboratively with teachers SENCO and external professionals
Support children with personal care needs where required
Maintain safeguarding health and safety standards at all times
The ideal candidate will be calm patient and passionate about early childhood education. You will understand the importance of routine attachment and consistency in EYFS settings and be committed to inclusive practice.
You should demonstrate:
Experience working within EYFS or early years settings
Knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
Experience or strong interest in SEN and inclusion
A nurturing proactive and flexible approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Resilience in a busy classroom environment
