Role Purpose

The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support Nursery and Reception children aged 35. You will assist with the delivery of engaging learning activities while providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs.

Supporting children with SEN EAL or social-emotional challenges is a key part of this role. You will help children engage with learning build confidence and develop independence in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering EYFS curriculum through both adult-led and child-initiated activities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils requiring additional help

  • Support early literacy numeracy phonics and creative learning

  • Encourage positive behaviour independence and social skills

  • Assist with daily classroom routines and transitions

  • Support outdoor learning physical development and creative activities

  • Observe assess and record childrens progress and achievements

  • Collaborate with teachers SENCO external specialists and parents

  • Ensure safeguarding health and safety procedures are maintained

The Ideal Candidate

The school seeks a patient reliable and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant with:

  • Experience in EYFS or early years settings

  • Understanding of EYFS framework and child development

  • Experience or interest in supporting SEN and inclusive education

  • Calm consistent and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication teamwork and organisational skills

  • Flexibility and resilience in a busy classroom
