Maintenance Technician
Location: Cortex District St. Louis City
Schedule: MondayFriday 7:00 AM4:00 PM
Compensation: $18-20 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation inspection and light maintenance of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems within a premier facility. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in building engineering and facilities management.
You will be part of a close-knit two-person engineering team supporting an 89000-square-foot Class A office building with a laboratory component located in the innovative Cortex District of St. Louis. This role offers hands-on experience exposure to advanced building systems and clear pathways for professional growth.
Assist the engineering team with preventive maintenance and repairs across building systems
Perform general maintenance tasks including carpentry HVAC electrical plumbing and painting
Complete and track work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Maintain tools equipment parts and supplies in safe clean and working condition
Work under the guidance of Operating Engineers Chief Engineers and senior team members
Participate in ongoing technical safety and operational training
Provide support during on-call or emergency response situations as needed
Contribute to special projects and other assigned tasks
What You Bring to the Table
12 years of hands-on experience in maintenance repair HVAC plumbing electrical or carpentry
Trade school education union training military experience or college coursework is a plus
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders up to 30 feet
Physical capability to climb bend kneel lift and perform repetitive tasks
Strong customer service mindset with the ability to work collaboratively
