Job Summary

About The Role:

As a Senior Safety Business Partner you will play a key role in strengthening our Work Health and Safety (WHS) culture and supporting high standards of safety performance across the organisation. Success in this role looks like providing trusted professional WHS advice partnering with leaders and employees to build capability and driving the effective implementation of our WHS Management System. You will contribute to continuous improvement lead risk management initiatives support audits and compliance requirements in the WHS setting and help ensure our practices align with legislation and self-insurer performance standards. Your expertise will directly influence how our people work safely every day and will help shape a positive proactive safety culture across the City of Charles Sturt.

About You:

You will bring:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build supportive relationships at all levels.
  • Experience providing high-level WHS advisory services within a complex organisation.
  • Well-developed research problem solving and risk management skills.
  • The ability to exercise sound judgement negotiate outcomes and work with initiative.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset contributing positively to team goals and organisational culture.
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation risk management frameworks and audit processes.
  • Experience in a self-insured environment or construction/maintenance setting (desirable).
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS or demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications (desirable).

About Our Team:

Governance and Risk provides essential support services across Council and to the Elected Body. The team develops and provides quality process advice and guidance to stakeholders to assist them in providing leadership accountable governance and a safety-first focus to enable the delivery of quality services to the community.

The Detail:

The position is offered on a full-time fixed-term basis for 12 months and is classified at Level 6 with a starting salary of 111989.68 per annum (pro-rata) Super Annual Leave Loading.
