Job Summary

Job Description:

A Technical Services Engineer (Bearings) or Technical Support Specialist in the bearings industryprovides engineering expertise to customers sales teams and maintenance staff to ensure optimal performance selection and maintenance of bearing products. This role combines technical knowledge of rotating equipment tribology and mechanical engineering to solve troubleshoot and optimize bearing applications.
Job Responsibilities
  • Technical Support & Consulting:Act as the primary technical contact for customers analyzing operational conditions to propose optimal bearing specifications.
  • Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis (RCA):Diagnose bearing failures analyze and troubleshoot issues related to bearing damage or premature failure in machinery.
  • Application Engineering:Assist customers with bearing selection calculation (load speed life) and design validation (using software or manual calculations).
  • Product Development Support:Collaborate with R&D teams on designing new bearing types (e.g. for high-speed or specific industrial applications).
  • Field Support & Service:Perform on-site inspections installation guidance and lubrication audits to improve maintenance practices.
  • Documentation & Reporting:Prepare technical reports failure analysis documents lubrication charts and technical manuals.
  • Training & Education:Provide training to customers and internal sales staff on bearing technology application and maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Education:Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Production Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience:38 years of experience in bearing design application engineering or maintenance of rotating equipment (pumps gearboxes).
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. Creo UG NX) bearing analysis tools (e.g. vibration monitoring) and understanding of metallurgy.
  • Soft Skills:Strong analytical communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work under pressure.
