We are seeking an Urban Design professional with 3-5 years professional experience and a strong interest in the built environment particularly the relationship between buildings public spaces and urban systems.
This role will:
- Contribute to the design and delivery of urban design and master planning projects across a range of scales and sector types including Urban Design and Public Realm Health and Urban Transport.
Read and interpret complex reports and strategic papers and pull out the parts that shape a master plan from spatial requirements through to governance and delivery considerations.
Translate master plan intent into clear compelling diagrams frameworks and conceptual plans particularly in early project stages.
Rapidly produce high-quality urban design graphics that explain ideas simply diagrams that clients and project teams can quickly understand.
Work closely with architecture landscape and planning teams to ensure urban design thinking supports the broader city context.
Take briefs and work autonomously developing draft diagrams and concepts that can be reviewed refined and built upon by the wider team
Support early-phase master planning with fast iterative graphic output that helps move ideas forward.

Skills and Experience
The role requires proven skills in urban design with an appreciation of the principles of architecture and/or landscape architecture strong conceptual design thinking visual communication skills the ability to operate effectively and efficiently in a deadline-focused environment and principles of regenerative urban development.
- A degree in Urban Design Architecture Landscape Architecture or a related field
- 35 years of professional experience Urban Design focussed experience preferred.
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills this role requires diagramming working to scale and producing precise urban design graphics (not just layout or presentation work).
- Excellent graphic communication and technical skills (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite Rhino Grasshopper QGIS).
- Strong graphic communication skills with the ability to produce diagrams quickly and efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience in urban design projects including Urban Design and Public Realm Health and Urban Transport.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills including report writing and ability to undertake presentations.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and contribute ideas with enthusiasm.
- A self-starter and able to work independently and ask for feedback when needed.
