About the role

The Technology Operations Director is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliable secure and efficient delivery of technology operations that support WorkSafe and the TACs strategic and operational goals.

You will lead core IT operational services including infrastructure service desk legacy applications end-user support security operations and IT vendor management. With a strong focus on service excellence risk management and continuous improvement you will ensure technology services are scalable resilient and aligned to business needs.

This role plays a critical part in strengthening operational performance enhancing user experience and ensuring technology services meet governance security and financial expectations. You will balance day-to-day operational leadership with a forward-looking lens driving standardisation lifecycle management and innovation across the technology landscape.

About the Team

This role leads a diverse group of senior technology professionals responsible for technology operations across WorkSafe and the TAC. The team is service-oriented highly skilled and central to enabling the organisations broader technology and transformation agenda.

You will partner closely with executives business leaders technology peers and external suppliers fostering strong relationships and shared accountability for outcomes. Leadership is collaborative and customer-focused with a clear emphasis on trust performance and continuous improvement.

What were looking for

Senior Technology Operations Leader

You bring substantial experience leading large-scale IT operations in complex environments with accountability for service delivery infrastructure security and supplier management. You are comfortable operating at executive level setting strategy while ensuring operational excellence.

Commercial & Governance Focus

You have strong experience managing budgets contracts and vendor relationships ensuring value for money performance against SLAs and compliance with governance and security standards. You bring sound judgement in managing risk and resolving issues.

Collaborative & People-Centred Leader

You are a confident empathetic leader who builds high-performing teams and strong stakeholder partnerships. You communicate clearly influence effectively and foster a culture of service excellence accountability and continuous improvement.
