Job Summary

Introduction

BUSINESS ANALYST REAL ESTATE ESG & RISK(Fixed-Term Contract)SPAR Central OfficeReporting to: Portfolio Manager: HR Payroll Real Estate and RiskPURPOSEThe role of the Business Analyst is to deliver business benefits to SPAR through targeted Technology and Process initiatives that are aligned with the business unit strategy and objectives. The Business Analyst must ensure desired business outcomes are realized through detailed documentation of the technology and process enhancements required for the business to achieve its goals. Additionally the role involves ensuring constant and optimal functionality of the Group IT systems by supporting system users in SPAR and within the divisions. The role requires designing solutions that respect local autonomy across Distribution Centres and retailers while ensuring national consistency.

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Analyse and improve business processes identifying opportunities for efficiency and sustainability.
  • Gather clarify and document business and technical requirements translating them into actionable solution designs.
  • Map current and future processes assess change impacts and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Oversee testing and quality assurance including reviewing test cases and leading user acceptance testing.
  • Support data migration and validation to ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in strategic projects contributing to deliverables and project schedules.
  • Facilitate solution rollout and provide ongoing Level 2 support for operational issues.
  • Manage relationships with vendors technology partners and stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date system documentation and support knowledge sharing.
  • Proactively propose system improvements
  • Ad hoc duties as required by management

Desired Experience & Qualification

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in Wholesale and Retail
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Junior Business Analyst
  • At least 3 years experience in Retail (advantageous)
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant application stack
  • Knowledge of key frameworks such as BABOK Framework Application Lifecycle (ALM) Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Program and Project Methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall

  • Business process design optimisation and review skills

  • Quality orientated and self-driven to achieve results
