Primary Purpose:
To develop and implement recurring effective family engagement activities at CASE sites.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree in Social Work Psychology Sociology Education Communications or related field from an accredited university
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong communications public relations and interpersonal skills; bilingual preferred
- Access to community-based resources and family-serving organizations and agencies
- Community assessment and resource knowledge
- Ability to coordinate services for parents and guardians site coordinators and public agencies
- Ability to use a variety of software including Microsoft Word Excel and Access
Experience:
- Two years of experience in social work family or child services or related areas
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrate knowledge of 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) and CASE priorities program plans policies and procedures.
- Act as an advocate for families enrolled in the program both within the center and the larger community and assist families in becoming knowledgeable of community resources and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies to bring resources training and services to families of students participating in a 21st CCLC program.
- Plan develop coordinate and deliver family engagement workshops to 21st CCLC site coordinators families and/or parent liaisons in support of parental involvement job readiness and adult literacy.
- Aid sites in aligning enrichment and family engagement activities with academic support and needs based on the school day.
- Work with sites to identify strengths and needs to develop ongoing parent/guardian involvement activities at 21st CCLC sites.
- Maintain appropriate records to document parental and community involvement and participation at sites.
- Oversee implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) High-Impact Tutoring (HIT) and other school-day-aligned academic support.
- Lead ongoing professional development program observations and coaching to improve program quality.
- Work with the site coordinator school staff parents volunteers and community partners to develop effective advisory councils.
- Participate in committees and workgroups as assigned for 21st CCLC Texas ACE HCDE and CASE for Kids.
- Accurate and timely submission of required and requested reports for TEA TEA Partners HCDE CASE for Kids & community groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
