This position acts as an advisor to the Superintendent on all matters relating to business services and financial affairs and provides oversight and direction ensuring that the business and financial practices of the supervisory union and its member schools are in compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations as well as local policies. This position will also oversee the facility needs for locations oversee the transportation and busing needs as well as the food service program. The ideal candidate will be experienced in request for proposals (RFPs) to support OESU. Experience with Vermont public school finance and the ability to work with others are highly desired. Essential Job FunctionsSchool Budget DevelopmentResponsible for the overall budget formulation and long-range financial planning. Develops statistical financial and management information for use in planning and decision input from the School Principals Program Directors Human Resources Director and the Superintendent formulates District budgets which are focused on students and keep within Board the Superintendent to present budgets to the school boards for their consideration and per pupil spending tax rates and any applicable spending penalties to the with the development of presentations for Informational in all budget related Board with OESU personnel and school districts as needed to assure efficient accurate and effective accounting practices in accordance with Federal and State for acquisition installation and maintenance of fiscal management software and and maintains efficient procedures and effective controls for all expenditures of school funds in accordance with adopted budgets district policies and State and Federal and coordinates financial affairs with OESU administration team (Superintendent Director of Curriculum Human Resources Director and Director of Student Services).Collaborates and supports an OESU comprehensive Risk Management the skills needed to apply for and administer for management of business office for the oversight of the annual audit ManagementResponsible to establish annual contracts for financial audits tax anticipation notes workers compensation unemployment and liability and property insurance for school for the effective and efficient procedures in formulating and negotiating financial and property service contracts with vendors and consultantsActs as purchasing agent for school boards and establishes procedures for the purchase of goods and services for school Range:The anticipated annual salary for this role is $95000 $125000 based on experience level of education. Compensation considers factors such as previous work experience and degree level. This compensation range is provided in accordance with Vermonts Pay Transparency Law and reflects a good faith estimate.
