Founded in 2020 Ribbit builds and operates self-flying airplanes. Weve developed an autonomous technology stack that performs gate-to-gate operations including taxi takeoffs landings and in-flight maneuvers. Our immediate goal is to improve air transportation in northern Canada where everything from military supplies to groceries must be flown 2023 we signed our first contract with the Government of Canada and performed Canadas first hands-free gate-to-gate flight between two airports that same year. We have active contracts with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and Department of National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) and weve signed several northern wholesalers worth $42M per year in air freight the future our technology will be used to connect rural remote and coastal regions around the world expanding eventually to passenger travel at large. Our work is grounded in the central importance of transportation to human rights from the sovereign right to defend to the right to food security.

Position Overview
As a Test Pilot/Aircraft Mechanic you will:
- Be a Jack/Jill of all trades in an exciting unique role that combines a test pilot with an aircraft mechanic
- Enjoy having a diverse set of jobs within the company and be provided with trust independence and responsibility to achieve them
- Work closely with a skilled engineering team to provide input to new aircraft designs and assist in the fabrication of components and sub-systems
- Be part of a growing multidisciplinary team of engineers mechanics and fabricators creating the future of autonomous flight
- Work with teammates to conduct tests and onsite demonstrations both in Burlington and in various locations across Canada and the world
- Have the opportunity to grow within the company as we increase in size

Your key objectives will include:
- Maintain a fleet of aircraft to achieve high dispatch availability - Cessna 150 & 206
- Maintain aircraft logbooks up to date with accurate maintenance entries
- Conduct inspections on aircrafthrs and annual inspection
- Assist with new aircraft installations in support of advanced autonomous aircraft projects
- Assist with flight testing new autopilot features - could be on the ground or as PIC of the aircraft
- Identify source and purchase parts and materials to support the operation
- Provide support to aircraft operating away from home base as required
- Provide feedback to the engineering team to achieve designs that are low-cost and easy to maintain
- Design and build equipment and rigs to help with engineering projects
- Assist in maintaining a safe organized and clean hangar facility

- Duration: Permanent Full-Time starting February 2026
- Base Compensation: 80K to 95K salaried
- This is an in-person role involving mostly on-site presence to support fabrication integration and testing at our Burlington locationyou must be in the Greater Toronto Area or willing to relocate
- Competitive and comprehensive compensation which includes 3 weeks of paid vacation comprehensive health and wellness plans (health dental drugs) and credits for personal development and training
- You must be eligible for a Government of Canada Secret security clearance and registration in the Controlled Goods Programyou must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with no criminal record
Qualifications
As the ideal candidate you have strong technical skills and meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Commercial Pilots Licence - Aeroplane (CPL-A) with at least 350 total flight hours
- Hold a college diploma in a relevant area of applied science or technology (e.g. Aviation Technician Engineering Technologist)
- Hold a CAT-1 Medical Certificate or CAT-3 with the ability to renew to a CAT-1
- Experience repairing and maintaining piston-powered general aviation aircraft (e.g. Cessna Piper etc)
- Experience safely using power/hand tools (e.g. drill rivet gun die grinder)
- Knowledge of aircraft systems (e.g. engines electrical structures) and up-to-date on industry best practices such as AC43.13 1B/2B
- High attention to detail and take pride in achieving a job well done
- Ability to learn new technical skills as required
- Ability to travel for flight demonstrations - expect 2-6 weeks per year
Preferred and bonus qualifications include:
- Hold additional ratings such as Night IFR Instructor and/or Multi-Engine
- Hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) in any rating (M/E/S)
- Experience flying in diverse conditions (e.g. US airspace northern Canada IMC) and remaining calm under pressure - such as in flight emergencies
- Experience as a pilot or AME at a commercial air operator (e.g. air taxi aerial work commuter scheduled/non-scheduled airline) or in the military
- Experience designing building assembling and/or testing custom modifications to aircraft or other vehicles
- Experience maintaining and repairing Rotax engines
- Experience using 2D or 3D CAD software
- Demonstrated ability to proficiently make use of common metal fabrication methods (e.g. sheet metal cutting/forming/riveting welding)
You also possess the soft skills to work in a high-stakes fast-paced tight-knit company such as:
- Communication skills
- Openness to give and receive feedback
- Demonstrated ability to work independently manage own schedule and meet deadlines
