Position Summary:
The campus Title I Instructional Aide assists school staff with accelerated student instruction in such a way to facilitate the achievement of the schools goals.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid TexasInstructional AideCertificate or ability to obtain upon hire
- Must meet 1 of the 2 following criteria: Associates degree OR 60 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Ability to work well with children parents and school staff
- Ability to use/learn basic computer applications
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English
- Ability to speak Spanish (preferred)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional activities as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment.
- Assist in supervising students throughout the school day as needed.
- Assist in the maintenance of administrative records and preparation of reports as required.
- Assist in inventory care and maintenance of equipment as assigned.
- Assist in preparing materials/displays for instruction or campus operations.
- Participate in staff development programs faculty meetings and special events as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
- Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software presentation equipment copy machines etc.)
- Intermediate skill in Data Entry Database Presentation Spreadsheet Word Processing/Typing
- Google suite of applications
- Video conferencing technology
Physical / Environmental Factors:
Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner. Observe all safety precautions.
