Today we are confirming our search for a Manager Accounts Receivable who will be responsible for the accurate and timely management of accounts receivable while leading a small team.


This is a hands-on role that combines direct involvement in day-to-day AR activities with people leadership process discipline and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will ensure consistent execution strong controls and effective collection practices.


In addition to the duties expected of a seasoned high performing AR professional responsibilites will include:


Accounts Receivable Operations and Reporting

  • Own the full accounts receivable cycle including billing cash application collections and account reconciliations.
    Actively participate in daily AR work alongside the team to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
    Oversee resident and customer account setup maintenance and issue resolution.
    Ensure receivable balances are accurate supported and reconciled in the system.
    Monitor aging follow up on overdue balances and support effective collection practices.
    Prepare and review AR aging reports and other routine summaries as required.
    Support month end close activities including reconciliations and AR related reporting.

People Leadership and Daily Oversight

  • Directly manage and support a small accounts receivable team.
    Build a high performance team culture focused on accuracy ownership service and follow through.
    Set clear expectations priorities and deadlines across the team.
    Review work for quality and completeness providing timely coaching and feedback.
    Train and onboard new team members and build consistency in how work is completed.
    Address performance issues constructively and reinforce standards.

Processes Controls and Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure established AR processes and controls are followed consistently.
    Review current workflows to identify gaps inefficiencies or risks.
    Implement practical process improvements that strengthen accuracy efficiency and collections outcomes.
    Drive improved use of systems and available technology to reduce manual work and errors.
    Document processes and ensure they are understood and applied consistently.
    Support audit activities by preparing schedules responding to questions and strengthening controls as needed.

Collaboration and Support

  • Work closely with Property Accounting Operations and other Finance teams to resolve issues and improve end to end processes.
    Partner with operations teams on collection practices account issues and process alignment.
    Serve as a key point of contact for AR related questions from internal teams.
    Support process alignment related to acquisitions or system changes.
    Provide clear and practical updates on AR balances aging and performance as required.


Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in accounting finance or a related field.
    Five plus years of hands on accounts receivable or accounting experience.
    Prior experience managing or leading a small team.
    Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a reliable high performing team.
    Strong attention to detail and comfort working directly in the detail.
    Practical experience improving processes or systems in a working environment.
    Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced setting.
    Clear and direct communication style with both finance and non finance partners.
    Experience with Yardi or similar ERP systems is a strong asset.
    CPA designation is an asset but not required.
    Bilingualism in English and French is preferred.

The approximate salary range for this role is $65000$85000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including skills experience educational attainment professional designations internal equity and other job related requirements.
