As the Manager Property youll take the lead in managing Glenorchy City Councils diverse property programs including leasing and licensing land disposals capital projects and property administration in accordance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. The role is also responsible for overseeing the maintenance of Councils property portfolio to ensure assets are compliant safe and fit for purpose in line with Council Work Health and Safety (WHS) and compliance standards.

What Youll Do

  • Lead and manage the Property Department ensuring effective delivery of Councils property functions.
  • Oversee leasing licencing disposals and maintenance with transparency and compliance.
  • Drive capital and renewal property projects on time on budget and to standard.
  • Provide strategic insights reports and recommendations to inform Councils decisions.
  • Ensure all assets and operations meet WHS environmental and legislative obligations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team focused on accountability innovation and results.

    What youll bring to the role:

    • Tertiary qualification in Property Law Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience in a relevant field).
    • Demonstrated extensive experience relevant to the Manager Property role ideally in a Local Government Setting.
    • Proven ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation policies and regulations.
    • Strong leadership negotiation and communication skills including high-level report writing skills and experience leading complex negotiations
    • Experience in the management and oversight of staff projects and contracts.

    Position details:

    • Permanent full-time (38 hours per week)
