Position Overview:

As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club of Connecticut team you will be responsible for the member experience with the Club and the daily management of the dock staff across the Connecticut locations. We are looking for a strong manager that will drive a remarkable member experience develop strong teams and collaborate closely with the Fleet Team and other support functions. The Sr. Manager Dock Experience is responsible for operational efficiencies and Club performance as it relates to members and staff experience.

Essential Functions:

• Staff Oversight: Provide final authority on staffing decisions; manage Club Managers and dock staff daily; conduct performance reviews for location-level managers.
• Hiring & Onboarding: Lead recruiting efforts including resume review and interviews; partner with HR to onboard new staff and deliver initial and ongoing training.
• Staff Scheduling: Ensure all locations are appropriately staffed and partner with managers to build schedules that provide dock coverage. Act as interim Club Manager temporarily when there is a lack of coverage.
• Budget & Payroll: Manage dock staff wage operating budget; review and approve payroll for accuracy and compliance.
• Membership Experience: Ensure member satisfaction and retention; review Qualtrics feedback and implement corrective measures; handle member correspondence regarding incidents billing and feedback; develop and update local waterway guides.
• Member Reservations: Oversee all aspects of reservations including modifications same-day requests weather notifications fees fuel charges reminders training vessels and closure notices.
• Training Function: Manage the Training function including the Captain crew; own New Member Orientation scheduling and training coordination.
• Reporting & Analysis: Evaluate and report member and staff KPIs; perform ad hoc analyses to support operational improvements.
• Safety & Compliance: Support Fleet Team in implementing safety and compliance measures across locations. Adhere to all safety procedures and act as a champion for safe practices.
• Documentation & Standards: Develop and maintain staff manuals; create and implement SOPs and improvement processes to ensure consistency.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor Club Managers and dock staff; conduct regular location visits to assess staff performance operational needs and fleet conditions.
• Collaboration & Industry Relations: Maintain relationships with marina managers and landlords; collaborate with other FBC functional groups to advance organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degreerequired
• Demonstrated ability to manage others
• Thorough understanding of practices theories and policies involved in operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills
• Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Beat least21years of age
• Pass a background/education checkand drug screen
• Have a valid drivers license anda good drivingrecord

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of related operations experience
• Experience in and around boats
• Ability to perform minor boat maintenance
• Positive cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised

Working Conditions:

• Work outdoors and in various weather conditions for an extended period of time
• Work in a marina setting on docks that may be fixed or floating
• Work near and on the water
• Safely move on off and in vessels during various tide and weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at a time pull lift carry squat twist and kneel
• Vision adequate to read/manipulate handheld tablets

The anticipated pay range for this position is $76300 to $100000 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic addition to base pay this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
