2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
3. Washington State Educational Staff Associate School Nurse Certificate or willing to complete as soon as possible.
4. Able to provide own transportation.
5. Positive evaluations and recommendations.


Preferred Qualifications:
1. Willingness to continue training and education to learn the most current innovations and application for nursing services.
2. Demonstrated ability to work independently with large numbers of staff in promoting the health services program.
3. Demonstrated ability to develop rapport with students and parents.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and work with colleagues such as the other school district nurses.
5. Punctual and consistent attendance.

Job Description:
1. Supervise medication and specialized treatment and dispense medication to students.
2. Maintain health records; develop individual health plans (IHP).
3. Conduct screenings: vision hearing scoliosis.
4. Establish programs that promote cleanliness and accident prevention.
5. Serve on Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) in developing and implementing the health section of the Individual Education Program (IEP).
6. Deliver classroom instruction on health-related topics (i.e. growth and development AIDS hygiene etc.).
7. Provide individual or group health counseling to students/staff.
8. Coordinate health referrals with staff student families and community agencies.
9. Work with local community health and social service agencies to improve referral process and coordination of services for district students.
10. Maintain and monitor Washington Administrative Codes (WAC) regarding current immunization standards.
12. Serve on building-level Student Assistance team.
13. Willingness to work with health needs of all children (i.e. bilingual special education).
14. Duties may include supervising an LPN or other personnel in medical matters.

Sense:The employee is required to talk/hear conversations and other sounds. The employee must be able to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. The employee is required to taste and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision far vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Lifting:The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 26 lbs; must also be able to lift overhead. The employee may be required to physically move quickly in an emergency or while performing student supervision duties.

Physical Hazards:While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to work outdoors in a wide variety of temperatures; from -10 degrees F to 100 degrees F . The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.

Application Procedure: In-District staffmust complete an internal online application by10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date.In-building/In-district staff will have eight school days or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacant position through the online application system. The employee may choose but will not be required to meet with the building administrator to understand the building practices procedures and initiatives specific to the position to which they are applying. After eight days if an in-building employee is qualified for the position the principal will offer the employee the the case that more than one in-building employee is interested in a position the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee. If a position is not filled in-building after the eight day period the position will be offered to the qualified most senior in-district applicant if any. Teachers with a summative evaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.
