Job Summary

Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Universitys colleges and units require a specialized and hands-on approach to advancement and alumni activities. This position will be a member of the Foundation team reporting to the Senior Director of Development assigned to the unit and will work to advance the priorities of the individual unit and its leader(s). The advancement coordinator will serve as the development teams main point of contact for the work being done to advance a wide-range of fundraising and alumni relations initiatives. This position is collaborative on gifts and programming support coordinating closely with leadership giving alumni relations planned giving and faculty and staff.

A nonprofit Idaho organization the Boise State University Foundation was established in 1964 for the benefit of Boise State University. We work to secure philanthropic support for the university by developing and nurturing relationships with our alumni and friends and stewarding gifts made to support Boise State. The Foundation works closely with university leadership the Boise State University Alumni Association and the Bronco Athletic Association.

Mission: To build a greater Boise State University we provide fundraising leadership and service across the university and partner with donors and alumni to inspire private support.

Level Scope:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills policies and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Essential Functions:

80% of the time the Advancement Coordinator Athletics must:

  • Serves as primary liaison between the unit-based development team and rest of the Foundation staff. Including but not limited to: the alumni/donor relations team the other unit-based teams centralized development team members advancement services Foundation accounting etc.
  • Coordinates with the alumni relations staff to ensure aligned strategies expectations and intended outcomes for signature alumni and unit-based engagement.
  • Assist unit-based development team with the identification qualification and stewardship process for donors.
  • Run reports prepare briefings and light research support for unit-based development efforts.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of event details including but not limited to: venue invitations catering volunteer management name tags signage printing coordination with unit based and Foundation engagement teams/strategy.
  • Manage RSVPs and engagement tracking for donor and alumni related unit events.
  • Assist in composing pre- and post-event correspondence.
  • Management of special projects as determined by unit-based development team.
  • Create and coordinate content for event or unit based alumni and friends communication such as develop content for invitations newsletters emails event protocol outlines and social media. Assist with proofing internal and external communication and marketing collateral. Working in collaboration with centralized Foundation and unit-based teams.
  • Manage budgets based on cost/revenue analysis; coordinate reservations track invoices and payment processing.

15% of the time the Advancement Coordinator Athletics must:

  • Use the daily transaction report and reports on recurring giving to monitor gifts to the unit and thank donors in a timely manner. Coordinate with the unit-based development team on gift acknowledgements.
  • Collaborate with the unit-based development team unit leadership and faculty and staff to execute fundraising campaigns such as the annual Bronco Giving Day and periodic Pony Up campaigns.
  • Serves as primary liaison between the unit-based development team and the Donor Relations team on shared events and other donor cultivation and stewardship efforts including scholarship reports for donors and donor thank you gifts cards etc.
  • Serves as primary liaison between the unit-based development team and the donor database team to ensure compliance with Query usage and reports data entry policies and to obtain the lists needed for college-specific donor engagement activities.
  • Manages unit-specific projects in Trello and collaborates with Marketing and Communications on college-specific events and activities.

5% of the time the Advancement Coordinator Athletics must:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Experience and ability to use and develop electronic communication with alumni and donors.
  • Ability to think through complicated processes and have exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • This position is expected to have a high level of communication skills and the ability to work effectively with alumni and donors through both oral and written communication.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize a large workload.
  • Must be able to handle confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and assessment.

MinimumQualifications:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent plus 2 years experience.

Salary and Benefits:

The starting annual salary range for this position is $50065.60 to $62587.20 annually commensurate with State University provides a best-in-classbenefits package including (but not limited to):
